There’s one thing AI can’t help you with and never will.
AI can’t replace human connection.
It can’t replicate energy in a room.
It can’t build trust through eye contact. And it certainly can’t recreate the chemistry that happens when a team gets together, face-to-face.
I just got back from leading my first Sales Kickoff of the year. It was a three-day event with the IMPLAN team and it was electric.
High energy. Real engagement. Cross-functional alignment.
People left that room not just with new tactics to close deals but with a renewed sense of purpose and drive. They were ready to run through a wall.
That outcome happened because the team was together—sharing space, ideas, and ownership of what comes next.
Sometimes the best solutions are also the simplest ones.
If you want to motivate and energize your team, bring them together.
It doesn’t have to be extravagant.
It doesn’t need a five-star venue.
But it does require proximity. Shared space. Uninterrupted time to reset, align, and reconnect as a team.
We’ve gotten so used to asynchronous, remote-first everything that we’ve forgotten:
- Culture isn’t built on Zoom.
- Trust isn’t built in Slack.
- And momentum doesn’t come from slide decks.
It comes from being in the room.
If you’re a founder, CRO, or sales leader wondering how to kick off the year strong, start there. Don’t just push out your strategy. Create a moment that brings people together around that strategy.
Because when the team is aligned and energized, everything else gets easier:
Adoption, execution, collaboration, and most importantly - closing.
